Exactly Who Is This Susan Boyle – United Kingdom’s Got Talent Hopeful?
Susan Boyle stunned not only the judges of the television show Britain’s Got Talent but the whole world. Nobody would have thought that the 48 year old woman of Scottish descent had the voice that would dazzle even the strictest judge in the persona of Simon Cowell. She became a start overnight by singing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables that was aired in the United Kingdom on April 11, 2009. That was when I fell in love with Susan Boyle’s voice.
She is a native of Blackburn, West Lothian Scotland from the time she was born on the 1st of April 1961. Her parents, Patrick and Bridget Boyle, were both immigrants from Ireland. She is the youngest child, having four brothers and two sisters born ahead of her. Bridget Boyle gave birth to Susan at the age of 47, rendering the birth delivery difficult. A difficulty learning disorder was detected from the initial examination on her due to insufficient amount of oxygen while she was being delivered.
Susan Boyle received her first musical and singing lessons from Fred O’Neil, a voice coach. During the golden anniversary of her parent’s wedding was the first instance that her song was initially recorded. Her mother tried to convince her to join the famous television show Britain’s Got Talent apparently because she has already one several singing competitions in the past. Coach O’Neil also tried to persuade her to go to the audition, but she hesitated reasoning out that she was too old for the contest and that it was for the younger ones to join. She declined at first with the reason that she was too old for the contest even though Coach O’Neil joined in the attempt to convince her to join. But after her mother’s death she was finally convinced to go for the audition in order to seek respect and admiration for her deceased mother.
After the preliminary audition of the television show on August 2008, she was accepted as a candidate. During the first round of the competition, no one from the judges nor the audience took Susan seriously. Her appearance was judged 1st hand. The audience and the judges thought there was nothing extraordinary about her. The song “I Dreamed a Dream” proved everyone wrong. Her song was met by a standing ovation together with numerous praises not only from the audience but also from the judges.
The outstanding video of the singing 48 year old Susan Boyle was then uploaded to YouTube after its airing. In the first 72 hours, the video garnered about 2 ½ million views and in less than a month, it was viewed by more than 8 million people. To date, about 10 million viewers have already seen her video. Susan could not even believe the patronization that her singing received not just from the people in United Kingdom, but from people all over the globe. I loved watching the Susan Boyle Youtube Video.
She is now a strong contender for the winning title of Britain’s Got Talent. Everyone has to accept the fact that Susan has talent. People all over the world would surely keep track of her progress as she competes to win the contest. I think by the end of this season they will call it Susan Boyle Brittan’s Got Talent.
