VSAT Satellite Services

Internet via Satellite (IP over satellite, Boadband Satellite) is a high speed Internet connection to the global Internet network designed for carriers/ IAPs/ ISPs corporate Customers and Internet Cafes. Internet via satellite provides Internet from one Up-Link Station directly to the customer’s network via satellite, bypassing congested terrestrial lines. Up-LinkStations can be located everywhere in the world. To chose the right Up-Link Station, check the availability of Internet in the country. It does not make sense to work with HUB-Stations where Internet is poor or limited (e.g. Africa, Middle East). Better buy your service from Western Europe or US.

In case you want to buy Internet via satellite and you found the right partner with www.seek4sat.com, you need a terminal and a VSAT dish. Each gateway will the connected via satellite with the Up-Link station and the IP backbones.

Internet via satellite services are categorized into three kinds: Simplex, Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Duplex services. Each service provides inbound (downstream) speed ranges from 64Kbps to 45Mbps, with various combinations of outbound (upstream) speeds.

Simplex service (one way satellite)
provides only downstream bandwidth adding inbound capacity to your network serving the nature of Internet traffic.

Asymmetrical Duplex service (two way satellite)
provides downstream bandwidth higher than upstream bandwidth e.g. 2Mbps/512Kbps (downstream/ upstream).

Symmetrical Duplex service (two way satellite)
provides downstream bandwidth equal to upstream bandwidth e.g. 2Mbps/2Mbps (downstream/ upstream).

Advantages:

  • Option of Full Duplex and Asymmetric Services to take advantage of Asymmetric nature of Internet traffic
Provide bandwidth with CIR (Committed Information Rate)
  • Direct to roof-top/POP/nodes using small to medium-sized antenna, bypassing congested international gateways and networks
  • Flexible: adjust bandwidth easily
  • Low-cost and competitive bandwidth cost
  • Easy to operate and maintain
  • Quick deployment
